Visit on Family Day 2008 on Saturday, October 11

Family Day is a great time to visit the Marlboro College campus, speak with various faculty and staff, attend sample classes, enjoy student work, explore the facilities and surrounding area and enjoy lunch together in the Dining Hall with other families and students.

Folliage season in October is a beautiful time to come to Vermont.  It was lovely to see so many family members on campus last fall. Please plan to come back again this year, and every year.  Just be sure to make your hotel reservations early.

From a Parent Trustee

Dear Parents,

As a parent member of the board of trustees of Marlboro College, I'm pleased to share with you a new way of connecting to the college our children attend. I believe that Marlboro College is providing an extraordinary education for my child, and I want to support that work in a personal way, not only by serving on the Board, but by learning about and staying connected with Marlboro College.

dalrymple classOne of my goals as a board member is to help Marlboro bring parents more fully into the Marlboro College community. The college years are learning times not only for our daughters and sons but also for us as parents. I know that's true for me. Marlboro strongly encourages parents to stay involved, keep in touch, offer support to each other, and stay informed. In that spirit, Marlboro College created this part of its website for us. The college aims to put us on the same page, literally, with our sons and daughters and the college faculty and staff, so that together we can facilitate the excellent education we want our kids to receive.

Marlboro will continue to update information on this site, add links to helpful resources, and construct new pages, so come back and visit again. Please feel free to drop us a line, for we are eager to hear your feedback and suggestions. What would you like to read about in this space? What information would you most like to receive?

It is my hope that you will feel moved to become more deeply involved with Marlboro. There are many ways to do this. You might attend a panel for parents on Family Day, bringing your own insights and experience. Perhaps you would like to make yourself available to receive phone calls from prospective parents about the college. And if you are able, I hope you will join me in supporting Marlboro College by making a contribution to the Parents Fund each year. A subset of the Annual Fund, the Parents Fund helps meet current needs and affects every component of a Marlboro education. Unrestricted gifts go to work immediately to fund the core priorities and strategic needs of the college, from scholarship aid to new programming to library acquisitions. By allowing Marlboro to respond immediately to its most pressing needs, the Parents Fund has a direct impact on today's students'including your son or daughter.

I look forward to meeting you at Marlboro soon.

Sincerely,
Gail Osherenko
Marlboro College Parent and Trustee
